Judging by the photo of the new 2017 Mercedes AMG GT R series, the styling is immediately noticeable, which is a significant deviation from the standard GT model. The model borrows many elements in the interior from the larger brother of the S-class. The dashboard uses similar cues we've previously seen in the sedan, including technology, a large display in the center.
Among the new instruments with analog dials, we highlight the seven-inch screen between them on the entry-level model and the 12.3-inch screen. There are also two displays of the infotainment system at 8.4 inches and also at 12.3 inches. The new steering wheel with touch keys is a truly innovative solution. The driver's side seat for the instrument panel is about an inch higher than the steering wheel, and there's also a round air vent in each corner of the control panel. The interior offers a two-tone scheme, with brown leather used on the top of the dashboard as well as on the top of the door trim. There are also wood trims on the doors and on the center console separating the top and bottom. These inserts have a silver look when the interior is decorated in gray color. An optional interior option, the Sport Package, offers sports seats in Dynamic leatherette, as well as two-tone leather upholstery, similar to the interior in gray tones.

At the rear, the only significant change is the design of the exhaust pipe and rear diffuser. The latter is painted black and has a chrome strip that runs across the entire width. The outlets now have their chrome insert around them with a vertical flap in the middle. In general, the exterior of the car received a more aggressive body, which is far from being as much as everyone expected.
In the interior, the updates are even less noticeable. The standard circular steering wheel has been replaced with a flat-bottom sports steering wheel to function as a five-and-a-half-inch information display. The AMG badge and chrome inserts have been applied to the bottom of the steering wheel, and you'll notice red contrast stitching on the top. The dials on the dashboard are uniquely numbered with checkered and red trim. As for the seats, we note the improved lateral support, which allows the driver and passenger to keep their body position during more intense car maneuvers. The seats, door trim and instrument panels are leather, and the center console has all those red trim materials. Silver inserts are used on the door trims, the center console has a sharply finished carbon fiber insert that adds sportiness and style to the interior design. In continuation of our review of new Mercedes cars, let's talk about the CLA model. Ahead, the lights are about the same as the old design, but that's the only thing that hasn't received a facelift. The hood displays more muscular lines, and the grille is now black with diamond-like highlights with a horizontal grille in the middle. As in other Mercedes models, the design of the symbol seems to float in the center of the grille. The bottom of the fascia has been completely redesigned with corner holes connected across the full width of the bezel. The fascia is in the middle to make room for the air intakes. This option makes the front of the body more elegant.
On the sides, we notice not so many changes. The upper body line extends from the front fender and slopes down towards the rear wheel arch, while the lower body line extends from the center of the entry door and slopes upwards, thus becoming closer to the rear. Looks like the lateral mirrors have been replaced with thinner ones. The developers claim that the rear bumper is new, but it just seems to look more refined than the previous one. The taillights received the same shape, but the location of the lights has changed slightly. The reverse lights have been moved from the bottom of the taillight to the middle, which distinguishes this model from the pre-facelift version. The small vertical holes at the corner of each posterior fascia are still there, but this time they are not of the sinking kind. Trim strip in chrome or black is optionally available between the nozzles. The architraves between the spigots now sit flush with the rear panel and also give the stern a wider look.
The body received a new color, in the form of moon blue. Another build option that is now available on the model has high performance LED lights. These headlights have a color temperature that mimics daylight and has low power consumption. The low beams use projection technology while the high beams use LED reflection technology. Direction indicators and daytime running lights made of multifunctional fiber optic cables. According to the engineers, none of the bulbs should be changed during the life of the car, at the same time LED lightening is selected as an option. The flat window on the side is black, as are the roof rails, these are two components that have chrome and silver inserts.
New E 43 4Matic
The rear lights have chrome strips that run through the sunroof. Down below, the fascia carries the same design, but the rear diffuser offers a more aggressive look with a black finish. There are exhaust pipes on every corner, which are also finished in black. They are the same shape as the exhaust pipes on the standard model, but have a vertical grille in the middle that creates a dual exhaust port at each corner. Probably, the new model has the same strange curvature at the top as in the previous generation.
Inside the model, the first significant thing you notice is consistency. The interior is mostly black with red accent stitching on the steering wheel, seats, floor mats, center console and door panels, almost everywhere you will find soft-touch material. The silver insert on the front of the dashboard and on each door skin stand out, everything lines up perfectly, creating one of the most beautiful salons that you may have observed. As expected, the novelty has:
- three-spoke, flat bottom steering wheel with silver trim on the spokes;
- various control keys for the infotainment complex and information system drivers.
The front seats received a sporty design, with increased lateral support. All upholstery is in Artico or Dynamic faux leather, Nappa leather upholstery is available as an option. The door panels and dashboard trim also received an Artico finish. To enhance the interior even further, aluminum sports pedals with black studs and red seat belts are available.

Finally, let's talk about the new Mercedes 2017 C-Class Convertible series. Taking shape from the latest S-Class Cabriolet, the design language of the new convertible looks very similar to its mates in the segment. In fact, the cars have almost identical external dimensions, the only thing is that the new model is a bit taller.
At the front, we will see the already trendy diamond grille plus standard LED headlights, while LEDs are also used for taillights. Chrome trim is used on the A-pillar, the windshield is 0.6" lower than the sedan for sporty look. Eighteen-inch wheel rims are hidden under the wings. Despite almost two decades of experience with electro-hydraulic convertible metal roofs, the model will use the classic rag-cloth top, which will no doubt shave off the curb weight and final MSRP a bit. Made from multi-layer material, the top can be opened and closed in less than twenty seconds at speeds up to sixty kilometers per hour. The developers also claim to have designed the roof to keep wind and road noise to a minimum while maintaining cabin temperature. Buyers will get the upper hand in trim:
- black in standard assembly;
- dark brown;
- Navy blue;
- or dark red available as an option.
