The old MacPherson strut front suspension has been replaced by a new independent four-wishbone with aluminum levers, while the rear transmission remains five-link but has been redesigned to substantially reduce vibration and noise.
In addition, buyers of the refreshed Mercedes with a new body will be able to choose from several variants of the Direct Control suspension. These include a sports version with a 1.5 cm reduced ground clearance, a comfortable version equipped with shock absorbers that independently adjust the stiffness, and a similar option where the driver controls the choice of modes.
We have not listed all the innovations yet. For the first time in this segment, Mercedes-Benz has made available an air suspension for the C-Class, which is capable of self-adjusting ground clearance based on the vehicle's current speed and load. There are five preset operating modes for this system: Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus, Eco and Individual. The latter mode makes it possible to set various parameters of the car at your discretion.

In October, the company released official snapshots of the interior of the C-Class W205, which looks a bit like its junior models. Largely thanks to the three circular air vents located in the center console and the infotainment monitor above them. But in this model, the display has become larger, it is available in versions with a diagonal of 8.4 and 7.0 inches, and the shape of the console has changed, and there is a touchpad for intuitive control of all multimedia capabilities with support for handwriting.

With the change of generations, the C-Class sedan has become 9.5 cm longer than its predecessor (its length is 4686 mm), and the wheelbase has increased from 2760 to 2840 mm. The width and height of the body are 1810 and 1442 mm (the previous figures were 1770 x 1447 mm). The minimum turning radius has slightly increased - from 5.4 to 5.6 m. The trunk has increased by 30 liters and now its volume is 480 liters (in the C 350 e model it is noticeably more modest - 335 liters).
The C-Class W205 has received numerous electronic driving assistance systems that make up a complex called Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive. A set of sensors allows you to detect cars in "blind spots", pedestrians, markings and road signs, giving, if necessary, a signal for emergency braking. The special Attention Assist system is able to detect driver fatigue, and the Stop & Go Pilot system will allow you to move on “autopilot” in city traffic jams at speeds up to 60 km / h. The vehicle can be equipped with dynamic headlights with LED Intelligent Light System. Nine airbags are responsible for the lives of the driver and passengers. The C-Class W205 scored very high in crash tests.
In the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205, a wide range of safety equipment, numerous modern technologies, spectacular design and comfort, comparable to those of a higher class, deserve attention.
